An Apology

An Apology…

How do you know when your baby knows he’s done something wrong?  Today, I got what I think was my first apology from 11 month old Monks.  It was in the form of a hug followed immediately after a sturn no.  I like to think the hug was his way of saying “I’m so sorry mommy, I won’t do it again, I love you”.

But, chances are, though, he was probably saying something like… “I’m sorry for upsetting you, but please don’t hate me when I do it again because, after all, I am just a baby and I will do it again.  I love you”

I guess both of those scenarios are pretty good.  How could anyone resist a hug from a baby who is just getting the hang of standing up. It took a bit of effort for him to stand, balance, lean into me, and give me the sweetest hug ever.

So much for not being easily manipulated. (sigh)
